Cathay House

718 California Street

This review is for the bar. This is a place to avoid in terms of the food, but the bar seriously rocks. I work in the area and so sometimes I'll come here when I need an easily accessible drink. The bartender Chuck, is great. If you want a decent drink and you're in the area, don't be afraid to stop by... just don't eat the food. If you do, well... don't say I didn't warn you!

So... be careful going up the stairs if you go to R&G Lounge

Seriously. So chances are that if you choose to go to R&G Lounge, you'll sit in the basement. This is all well and good... But yet again, I tripped going up the stairs. AGAIN. You'd think I would learn by now. And yes, it will be another few months before I show my face at that place again. lol

San Francisco Street Food Festival 2009

August 22, 2009
11 am - 7 pm
Folsom Street between 25th & 26th

Something that sounds rather worth while if you'll be in the city that day. : )

The Creme Brulee Cart

Street food is becoming more and more popular in SF and one of the latest crazes is the Creme Brulee Cart. You can find out where the cart will be by following the owner on Twitter. Something to keep in mind, this is not the same quality of creme brulee you would find in an upscale restaurant. That said, it is simple and good. It is, in my opinion, worth your while. Cash only, so come prepared. $3/each.

LGBT Pride Festival 2009

http://www.sfpride.org/

Saturday, June 27-28.

Pride is kind of a SF rite of passage in a way... even if you're straight. Come on out, have some fun and a one of a kind experience. I would say that some of it isn't exactly child friendly. If you're super conservative, this is an event you'd probably be better off skipping. For the rest, come on out and enjoy. All info can be found on the website above.

Happy Pride.

Fresca

2114 Fillmore Street

Many people seem to really enjoy Cha Cha Cha for a tapas bar. I don't. I tend to like Fresca more. Before I get off track, let me say, they have truffle mashed potatoes. I will eat anything so long as I get that delish truffle flavor. Yum!

I've been here numerous times and I've not been disappointed yet. The lobster & crab ceviche is a must... actually, I'm going to save time and say, try it all. I also recommend coming for dinner as that is what I've had. Prices are pretty reasonable.

"Whatever happened to predictability? The milk man? The Paper Boy..."

1709 Broderick St (between Bush St & Pine St)

Wake up San Francisco!

3 supposedly straight men living together and raising 3 girls in San Francisco. Right. Kidding.
Unless you live under some kind of rock, you know Full House. Who was your favorite character? Danny Tanner? While I was very disappointed to realize that Danny Tanner didn't actually live here, you can still come by and take a picture and pretend that he does.
